Tuam athletes are well used to travelling to races and this weekend we had Stevie Joyce travelling not too far from his native Ballygar to Glenamaddy where he had a brilliant 3rd place finish in the Four Roads of Madness 10k race. Further afield we had a full team taking part in The Connemara Rough Diamond where Derek Burke, Daniel Brady, Gerry Synott and Pat Flaherty were trying to make it three in a row for Tuam as they defended the All Ireland title that Tuam had won for the last two years. The competition was much stiffer this year with very strong teams entering from local triathlon and cycling clubs and the Tuam lads did extremely well to finish in 3rd place overall. They are determined to win the trophy back again next year.
