Tuam Juveniles Rory, Abdul and Darragh put on a great display in Tullamore

Three of our top juvenile athletes travelled to Tullamore on Saturday to represent Tuam in the All Ireland Finals. Rory Monaghan was taking part in the Boys U16 Discus. Abdul Wahab and Darragh Finneran took part in the Boys U16 Shot Putt. The standard of throwing in particular has increased dramatically in Ireland over the past few years and with the Olympics starting on our doorstep this week it was no surprise that everybody was throwing well on Saturday. At the end of the day Tuam did not win any medals but all of our lads finished in the top 10 which is a very satisfying result and they are all looking forward to next year already which is also a very good sign.

Juvenile training continues throughout the summer this year as we are not taking our traditional post All Ireland break. The new facilities at Tuam Celtic Park are so good we have decided to continue training and we would be delighted to see all of our juvenile athletes on Wednesday evenings at 7pm.
