Great turnout for Maree 8K

The Maree 8K race took place last Sunday with over 500 people taking part in a festival of road running that included a very enjoyable kids fun run, the main event 8K race and another race for teenagers and locals. It was a great day out and Tuam AC had a strong team in attendance including Tommy Joe Whyte who won his category once again. All of the Monaghans were in good form especially Diarmuid who ran a stormer of a race and set another PB as did his father Jarlath and they were joined by Stephen Brady who is in great form and Pat Flaherty who ran very well and finished like a train on the uphill finish. Elaine Fleming was the only Tuam AC lady in Maree and she ran a cracking race and has a great year ahead of her in 2013.
